The TransAtlantic Business Dialogue (TABD) is meeting in Davos during the annual World Economic Forum to determine their priority policy agenda for 2008. The chair role on the U.S. side will pass from Michael Klein, Citigroup???„?s chairman and co-CEO, Markets and Banking, to James Quigley, CEO of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu.

Against a backdrop of slower economic growth, the business leaders will concentrate on ways to maintain an open investment climate, balance security and open trade, and reduce regulatory barriers. The U.S. and EU markets make up 60 percent of global GDP and generate more than US$3.75 trillion in bilateral commercial sales a year. The transatlantic economy employs up to 14 million workers on both sides of the Atlantic.

There is a really interesting section on the Deloitte UK website which is encouraging debate on various themes to do with the future of tax services. David Sproul, Richard Buck and Alan MacPherson have kicked off the forum and there are videos from Carmel Moore at Pfizer, Andrew Constantine at Lloyds TSB and various other Deloitte partners.
